Affiliations
Entomology is an increasingly collaborative science. Amateurs and professionals often work together, especially in the areas of conservation and biological recording.
The AES is affiliated with, and supports the activities of, the following groups:
- British Entomological and Natural History Society: The AES is partnered with the BENHS and they two organisations run events together in addition to the BENHS helping support the AES Bug Club.
- Conchological Society of Great Britain & Ireland: The aim of the society is to promote the study of molluscs and their conservation, through meetings, workshops, publications and distribution recording schemes.
- Devonshire Association: The association is concerned with all aspects of Devon research, especially Devon Botany, Devon Buildings, Devon Entomology, Devon Geology, Devon History, Devon Literature, Folklore and Dialect.
- International Year of Biodiversity - UK: The Amateur Entomologists' Society is a partner organisation in International Year of Biodiversity - UK (IYB - UK).
- Invicta Arachnid Club: A club for arachnid enthusiasts in Kent.
- iSpot: the place to learn more about wildlife and to share your interest with a friendly community.
- Moths Count - National Moth Recording scheme: Moths Count aims to encourage interest in moths throughout the UK and to establish an ongoing National Moth Recording Scheme to improve knowledge and conservation of the 900+ species of larger moths.
- Quekett Microscopical Club: The Quekett Microscopical Club is dedicated to optical microscopy, amateur and professional. The Club holds regular meetings and AES members are welcome to attend.
- Royal Entomological Society: members of the AES are able to use the RES library and receive discount on RES books.

- Wildlife Gardening Manifesto: The Forum for Gardening with Wildlife in Mind brings together a wide variety of organisations including Government agencies, horticultural and scientific bodies, nature conservation NGOs and commercial companies, all with some interest in gardens and gardening, though from very different perspectives. The Forum recently produced a document called 'Let our gardens live! A manifesto for gardens, people and nature'.
